When you enter the building the girls dressing room and costumes will be in room 4. Dancers and 1 parent can be in the dressing room. Each costume is labeled with the dancers name on the hanger. Please find costume and put it on and then return to the same hanger and place on the rack please make sure all hair pieces and accessories are in your bag with your name on it. Mens/boys dressing room and costumes will be in room 1.
Picture Day Reminders:
- Arrive 20 minutes early
- Only 1 adult per dancer in dressing rooms
- Girls Room 4 | Boys Room 1
- Pink tights from HDA required (Weissman brand)
- Straight Back High Ballet buns with Bun forms (available at the front desk) — no bangs or flyaways
- Stage makeup (see below)
- No visible undergarments (no bra straps or undies)
- Smile and have fun!

Hair
- Party Scene Girls: High bun, no part, no flyaways (curly hairpieces provided)
- Party Scene Women: Half up / half down with curls
- All Others: High bun, no part, tight & sleek (bun form available at front desk) – use plenty of product so hair is slicked back.
Hair Pieces
- Dolls – please Bobbi pin the fluff that goes around your bun
- Grandfather / Girls dancing as boys – use hair net for wig and make sure it won’t move
- Mice: Please Bobbi pin head pieces to your dancers head making a X on each side
- Soldiers: Please Bobbi Pin Hats to head to ensure they do not fall off
- Little Flakes and Bees – Please Bobbi pin headbands to your dancers head making a X on each side and Bobbi pin the fluff that goes around your bun
- Snow Flakes – please Bobbi pin the fluff that goes around your bun
- Russian Dancers – Please Bobbi Pin hats on so they do not fall off
- Coffee / Spanish Dancers- Please secure rose on right side of bun
- Chocolate / Arabian Princess – Please secure headpiece with Bobbi pins and glue
- Tea / Chinese Dancers – please Bobbi pin the fluff that goes around your bun
- Mother Ginger – Secure Wig with Bobbi Pins

💋 Please apply makeup before coming to rehearsals and shows. Red lipstick stains cannot be removed please use the Revlon – Color Stay – Stay Currant— costume replacement fee may apply for lipstick on costumes.
💎 Earrings
All dancers will wear rhinestone button earrings for pictures and performances.
- Dancers may choose pierced or clip-on style.
- Competitive dancers already received their earrings during team pictures in August.
- All other dancers will receive theirs on picture day.
Please keep these earrings safe — they will also be worn for recital for all dancers!
🩰 Costumes
- Costumes are labeled with each dancer’s name and will be hanging in dressing rooms.
- Please arrive 20 minutes early for pictures to get ready.
- One parent allowed in dressing rooms to assist.
- Costumes remain property of HDA — do not take home.
- No food or drinks are allowed in costumes or in dressing rooms.
- Damage or staining may result in a $100 replacement fee.
What Dancer Need
- All Dancers need Pink Weissman Tights (available at the front desk)
- All Dancers need pink ballet shoes.
- Boys (Party Scene): White button-down shirt, black dress pants, tall black socks.
- Men: White button-down, black pants, black socks, black dress shoes.
- Women (Party Scene): Pink tights.
Rehearsal Schedule 2027 TBA
All rehearsals will take place at Hudson Dance Academy. Most classes will rehearse during their regular weekly class times until we get closer to the full group rehearsals.

Dressing Rooms
- Girls/Women: Gym (no boys, dads, or brothers allowed)
- Boys/Men: Small dressing room beside stage
21 – Performance Day!
- Shows 1:00 pm & 4:30 PM (all dancers are in both shows)
- Dancers arrive 1 hour before showtime (12:00 pm)
- Dancers will stay backstage during performances with the exception of the following: Chance 2 dance, Bees, & Chinese, can sit with parents until intermission (no costumes in auditorium)
- Show run time: 1.5 hours
- For Dressing room please bring labeled belongings, quiet activities (no markers or paint), and a blanket to sit on – we will have the show running on a screen for everyone to watch in dressing room.
